Adopt-a-School

The Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.; Gamma Zeta Zeta Chapter Adopt-A-School location is Broadleigh Elementary School.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CURRENT INITIATIVES:

 

           Broadleigh Elementary Book Drive

- New Multi-cultural books are being collected.  It is the goal  of the committee to place no less than 1 book  in each child's hand at Broadleigh Elementary School.  The project encourages cultural awareness, literacy, and educational support  for teachers, students, and parents.

 

         Broadleigh Giving Tree:

-Collection of hats, gloves, and scarves for students during the colder months.  Students, according to immediate need, can request clothing from the front desk.  No formal documentation is needed.  We are always collecting supplies to assist families.

 

         Book Bag & School Supply Drive:

-The Scholarship Committee facilitates a chapter, corporate, and community book bag and school supply drive over the summer.  Supplies and bags are provided to Broadleigh Elementary school year round.  

 

        Adopt-A-Classroom

-Members may opt to adopt a classroom to assist in supervision on field trips, provision of classroom supplies, and service as a volunteer reader. Volunteers are nationally certified in youth programming.

 

        Read to Succeed Week

-Members and community volunteers read to classrooms and provided tutoring and support to teachers.  Books and incentives are distributed

        Bobcat Bling

-Members donate prizes and "Bobcat Bling" for teacher and classroom incentives.

 

       Teacher Appreciations

-Members provide lunch or breakfast for all staff for a select day during Teacher Appreciation Week

 

      Field Day or Book Fair Volunteers

-Members volunteer to assist in Field Day or Book Fair volunteer support
